Митрополит Фотије - ПУТЕМ СВЕТОГ САВЕ И СВЕТОГ ВЛАДИКЕ НИКОЛАЈА (срб/eng)

Слушамо ових дана шта се догађа у нашој Србији. Нисам могао до краја то да разазнам од обавеза у нашој Епархији, али видимо да су се интензивирали протести по градовима Србије после оне велике трагедије у Новом Саду где је пала она несрећна надстрешница на железничкој станици и побила петнаесторо људи. Црква помиње те људе у својим молитвама, да им Бог подари Царство Небеско. Са друге стране, сада су настали немири на све стране. Једни говоре: „Ми хоћемо да мењамо власт и државу“, а други траже да им се доделе нека друга њихова права.
Требало би да се подсетимо речи владике Николаја да људи Срби треба да живе у слози, а не да се поистовете са онима који су у тзв. опозицији - Србија против насиља, јер они управо врше насиље над својим народом и над својим институцијама. Значи, они су против насиља над свима другима осим над Србима. Не можемо, дакле, ићи тим путем. Треба да идемо путем који Црква благосиља, путем Светога Саве и Светог владике Николаја. Треба да идемо путем наших правих честитих Срба домаћина. Они се не стиде да кажу да су Срби и да су православни. Они нису занети идејом о Европској Унији. Они знају да смо ми Срби у Средњем веку имали своју велику немањићку државу и борили се и чували је. У време Турака и разних освајача смо увек остали оно што смо били, држећи се светог Отачког предања и нашег Косовског и лазаревског завета, идеје слободне Србије и идеала велике Небеске Србије. То је наш пут. Ови који нам нуде разне земаљске алтернативе, браћо и сестре, често нас воде странпутицом. Не бисмо требали за њима ићи. Ми верујућу Срби знамо да треба да идемо путем Светога Саве, путем уским, али путем који нас води у Живот Вечни. То је наш пут и тако треба да ходимо, а томе путу нас учи и свето Јеванђење и Сам Господ наш - Исус Христос и сви Свети из рода нашега. Нека сте Богом благословени.

Metropolitan Fotije – FOLLOWING THE PATH OF SAINT SAVA AND SAINT BISHOP NIKOLAJ
These days we have been listening to what is happening in our Serbia. I could not fully discern it due to the obligations in our Diocese, but we see that the protests in the cities in Serbia have intensified after that great tragedy in Novi Sad, where that unfortunate canopy on the railway station collapsed and killed fifteen people. The Church mentions those people in its prayers, that God may grant them the Kingdom of Heaven. On the other hand, there are now riots everywhere. Some say: "We want to change the government and the state", while others demand that some of their other rights be granted to them.
We should remember the words of Bishop Nikolaj that Serbs should live in concord. And they should not identify with those who are in the so-called opposition - Serbia Against Violence, because they are committing violence exactly towards their people and towards their institutions. So, they are against violence towards everyone else except Serbs. Therefore, we cannot go that way. We should follow the path that the Church blesses, the path of Saint Sava and Saint Bishop Nikolaj. We should follow the path of our true, honest, Serbian goodmen. They are not ashamed to say that they are Serbs and that they are Orthodox. They are not carried away with the idea of the European Union. They know that in the Middles Ages we, the Serbs, had our own big Nemanjić state, and we struggled and protected it. During the era of the Turks and various invaders, we always remained what we were, following tradition of the Holy Fathers and our Kosovo and Lazar's pledge, the idea of a free Serbia and the ideal of a great Heavenly Serbia. That is our way. Brothers and sisters, those who offer us various earthly alternatives often lead us astray. We should not follow them. We, believing Serbs, know that we should follow the path of Saint Sava, a narrow path, but a path that leads us to Eternal Life. That is our path and that is the path we should follow. And the Holy Gospel and our Lord Himself - Jesus Christ and all the Saints from our generation teach us to follow this path. May God bless you.

Требало би да се подсетимо речи владике Николаја да људи Срби треба да живе у слози, а не да се поистовете са онима који су у тзв. опозицији - Србија против насиља, јер они управо врше насиље над својим народом и над својим институцијама.
